Garcia wins first WorldSSP300 race of 2025 in wild win; 10 riders within a second of P1
Garcia led Salvador and Fernandez across the line for the 6th all- Spanish podium in WorldSSP300 history
Julio Garcia (Prodina Kawasaki Italka Racing) earned his first race win in 2025 and his second race win of his FIM Supersport 300 World Championship career at Autodrom Most’s Race 1 of the Motul Czech Round. He was followed across the line by David Salvador (Team ProDina XCI), who ran a tremendous race to overcome a P28 start and a Long Lap Penalty in P2, and Benat Fernandez (Team #109 Retro Traffic Kove) in P3 for his second podium in his rookie season so far. Jeffrey Buis (Freudenberg KTM-Paligo Racing) had a rollercoaster race, the Championship leader going into the encounter fell as low as P8, climbing back to lead the race for moments before crashing out from P2 in the final lap.
GARCIA’S FIRST RACE WIN: Seizes first place from Buis in Riders’ Championship with his P1
Julio Garcia was fighting at the front for most of the encounter, tailing Salvador who Despite being applied a Slow Riding penalty in yesterday’s Tissot Superpole session forcing him to start from the back, by Lap 3, Salvador was back at the front of the front of the pack. He was assessed a Long Lap Penalty by WorldSBK FIM Stewards for Irresponsible Riding, which he took in Lap 6, again recovering P1, where he would go on to overtaken by teammate Garcia for the race win. Garcia’s win was his second in WorldSSP300, and the 40th race win by a Spaniard in WorldSSP300. Salvador finished in P2 for his third podium, followed by Benat Fernandez in P3 for his second podium. Fernandez however is under investigation for his and Daniel Mogeda (Pons Motosport Italika Racing)’s last lap incident which saw Mogeda crash out of the race.
MAIER AROUND PODIUM SPOTS AGAIN: Only 0.014s off Fernandez in P3
Humberto Maier (Yamaha AD78 FIMLA by MS Racing) started from the front of the grid, but as the grid grouped up in the first corner, he found himself shuffled all the way down to P9, he recovered to lead the race for stretches, but ultimately was beaten for pace by the trio of Spanish riders ahead of him in the final straight for P4. Matteo Vannucci (PATA AG Motorsport Italia WorldSSP300) earned his best result of the season so far in P5 as he surged in the second half of the race to the top positions. Elia Bartolini (Team BrCorse) was only 0.165s behind his countryman for part of the mad dash to the line in which he pipped Antonio Torres (Team ProDina XCI) by 0.340s for P6 and shuffling Torres to P7.
SVOBODA REPRESENTS AT HOME: Top 10 for the hometown hero, his first Top 10 of 2025
Marco Gaggi (Team BrCorse) finished P7 for his second-best result of the season after Assen Race 2 P4. Pepe Osuna (ZAPPAS-DEZA-BOX 77 Racing Team) placed P9, just 0.051s ahead of Czech hometown hero Petr Svoboda (Kawasaki Junior Team by MTM) in P10. The Czech rider’s P10 was his top result of the season so far. Carter Thompson (MTM Kawasaki) finished P11 after being forced wide by the crashing Mogeda, a tough break for the Aussie.
ROSENTHALER TAKES TURN 13 SPILL: Crashes out from P2
Jakob Rosenthaler (Freudenberg KTM-Paligo Racing) had a high-speed crash on Turn 13 of Lap 3, he walked away uninjured, but the crash ended his race after a strong Superpole session. Juan Risueno's (MS Racing) crash in Turn 15 just before, ended his day early as well. Giacomo Zannini (Kawasaki GP Project) and Daniel Turecek (Rohac & Fetja Motoracing Team) crashed in Turn 1 of the opening lap. Daniel Mogeda (Pons Motosport Italika Racing) crashed in Turn 21 of the race’s final lap amid a mad dash to the line.
